THE BRIEF: to bring to life the all-natural perfume brand, Myrrh & Moksha, weaving as much magic into the branding as there is in the perfume! My client wanted her branding to be romantic, warm, modern and timeless.
I loved playing around with the logo concepts for this beautiful brand! The end result was an idea I’ve had swimming around in my head for ages – the use of a classic, elegant font, but with a twist – tweaking individual letterforms to create visual interest, lengthening and shortening parts of each letter here and there to perfectly fit spaces between the words, and even an overlap where the Y meets the O! All these little details transform what is initially a simple logo concept into something high end and special! Carried through onto the labels and packaging I did for Myrrh & Moksha too, the core branding and fine, hand drawn illustrations that form part of the identity have proved versatile in creating a professional but whimsical look for my clients beautiful products.
“Andrea’s work makes me confident in my brand which is really important when trying to promote your own product. Knowing that there is a professional behind the design of your brand is reassuring. Not just a professional designer, but someone who I can bounce a related idea off, and who I know will give me a valuable opinion. Andrea’s recommendations on other professionals to work with has also been helpful in the past. I often hear people complaining about their designer not getting a logo right etc, and both parties end up feeling helpless because one doesn’t know exactly what they want, and both battle to communicate around this. No one ever really approaches a designer knowing exactly what they want. I love working with Andrea because she communicates with me in a way that prompts me to give her effective guidance at the beginning of a project, as well as feedback during the project, by posing the right questions and never shutting down ideas, but knowing where to carve out the useful bits! She gets me. She gets design, and she knows what it’s like to be an entrepreneur trying your best to put something meaningful, inspiring and a bit different out there. I get so many comments on the look of Myrrh & Moksha!”
